Techcrunch has a good overview of Netflix’s latest presentation. It lays out Netflix’s vision for how they fit into television’s future. The Future Of Netflix’s Business Laid Bare — By Netflix

This supports the notion that television is headed to personalized streams at the expense of traditional time focused broadcasts. Netflix is positioning themselves as a niche player that compliments but doesn’t replace cable/satellite/telco television subscriptions. Smart move – there is little hope for independent players to overtake the entrenched providers.

Netflix is a strong brand with a product that is easy to use at a compelling price point. With their focus on signing content deals and getting a larger library of streaming titles, the service will only continue to get better.

Of the risks they point out shenanigans from the cable providers seems like the biggest threat. Comcast is pushing for the right to shape traffic to their internet customers. Not good news for Netflix.

Check out the full presentation below. Well worth the read.
